The safety and well-being of The University of Iowa Pentacrest Museums visitors, students, and staff are foundational concerns for us. With this in mind, we have made a decision to adopt the University’s broader social distancing model, arrived at through consultation with Iowa Department of Public Health, Johnson County Public Health, the Governor and the Board of Regents.
**Our Museums are temporarily closed until further notice.**
Our staff is working remotely during this period and we are being creative with how we can share access to our tangible collections, exhibits, and spaces. Use our About page to contact a staff member if we can help.

SUMMER UPDATE: Our museum galleries will remain closed through the summer. We will reassess what the fall will bring and keep you all posted, but please know we realize these hot summer days have us all especially missing our cool (double meaning), dark museum galleries and we can't wait to host you again.
For now, health and safety must remain our first priority. UIPM will continue to look to guidance from campus leadership and within the museum community to make a decision that best fits our spaces and public for our firm re-opening.
Until then, we miss you! Stay tuned for virtual programming this summer and a few different projects in the works (virtual museum experience, podcasts, online educational programming and more). We're working hard to evoke our mission from afar until we can meet in our spaces once again. Our collections are safe and will be here for you, and many generations to come!
**We welcome researchers and instructors to contact us to arrange for creative solutions to collections and exhibit access. We're here for you. #inthistogether
