Archives main landing

Even history museums have history. Items and objects documenting the UI Museum of Natural History make up this collection, preserved to help us keep telling our story.

Our archival collection includes documents and images about expeditions, classes, exhibits, people, and objects throughout the museum's long history. Archives, photographs, glass slides, and other documentary collections have been preserved by our research collections team for more than 160 years.

Researchers, faculty, instructors, students, and others needing assistance with digital or in-person access, object/specimen loans, other special arrangements, or more detailed information on our research collections may contact our research collections team.
